Benefits of Cross Training
Cross Training has become very popular in the last 20 years and for good reason. Cross Training is conditioning that is not specific to one sport or style of workout. Instead the concept here is to focus workouts on functional fitness and overall health.
This fitness style will not focus on having larger biceps or how much someone can bench press. These workouts consist of multiple exercise practices and muscle groups to achieve a higher level of balanced fitness.
When the focus is on functional fitness a balanced whole body is the ultimate goal. This being said a trainer may focus initially on building the total body base of muscles in some of the initial sessions. Once this is achieved they can begin to alternate between different regiments and push the body for maximum results.
Weight training will focus more on functional movement and good form than it does muscle mass. This regimen is concentrated on functional exercises utilizing dumbbells instead of a bench press. It will integrate aerobic exercises and range of motion into the routines as well.
